To schedule an audtion, submit an online application from the Admissions and Scholarships page of the Music School website: music.memphis.edu. Please apply five weeks before your selected audition day. Early auditions are encouraged.

Instrumentalists participating in the U of M Honor Band may audition on February 9. To do so, apply by January 17.

All University of Memphis students may apply for Music School talent-based/ performance scholarships, which are determined by audition, ensemble needs, and funds. All audition days accept scholarship applicants but December 1 and February 2, 9 and 16 are Priority Audition Days. Undergraduates applying for Music School talent-based/performance scholarships must audition, apply to the University, submit high school transcripts and ACT or SAT results to the University by March 1. Scholarship applicants must have two letters of recommendation from professionals who know the applicant’s musical skills and experience sent to the Music school by the applicant’s audition day; you may bring recommendations with you to your audition. All undergraduate applicants who have been fully accepted by the U of M Admissions Office by March 1 are automatically considered for U of M academic scholarship, which is based primarily on high school GPA and ACT or SAT scores.

Audition days begin at the University of Memphis Music Building, Harris Concert Hall Lobby, 3775 Central Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee at 8:30 A.M. Applicants are greeted at a check-in table where they are given the schedule of the day. Audition days determine admission and scholarships.
