With an enrollment of over 1,000 students, the Community Music School of the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music is the most vital community music school in the mid-south. Our faculty are the most dedicated and accomplished music professionals in the area. Our students win prizes in regional competitions and participate in many CMS-sponsored activities, both on campus and in the community.

We are proud to offer a quality music education for all people with a wide variety of interests. The Community Music School offers programs for all ages, from infants to adults. We have traditional private lessons for all band and orchestral instruments, as well as piano, voice and guitar. In addition to one-on-one instruction, we offer group classes for people with similar interests and goals. We are proud to have the nationally recognized Suzuki and Kindermusik® programs at our school. We also have small and large ensemble performance opportunities available.

Our mission is to enrich the lives of individuals and the community by providing outstanding music education programs.
