TEXT ONLY PRINT
The Music Education-Instrumental degree program encompasses teacher-training studies in winds, percussion and string instruments. Additionally, students receive training on voice and piano, as well as courses in general music and instrumental music methods. Students are exposed to various teaching techniques, learning structures and school environments through a variety of field experience opportunities (pre-school through secondary levels) structured to develop the prospective teachers’ ability to teach music effectively to every student—regardless of age and ability. Students complete a fifteen-week student teaching internship in the public school during the final semester. The degree culminates in a Tennessee State Licensure/Certification for public school K-12.
